I laughed almost all the way through, while reading this script. I would go so far as to say it is probably the best dark comedy filmscript I have read, or seen on film. The characters and setting are entirely realistic: A family funeral: The wife badgering her husband to get her pregnant: The unsuccessful elder writer brother, who has resorted to teaching to earn a living and is overshadowed by the highly successful 'hack writer' younger brother who gets everything published: The mix-up with the Valium tablets. I found the geriatric, confined to a wheelchair and foul-mouthed, family member hilarious- but the part which got me almost falling off my computer chair with laughter occured towards the end of the script, when 'Frank' continually banged on the coffin during the elder brother's eulogy. I used to think that you Americans weren't as good as us Brits in writing comedy (In my opinionl, 'Bevis and Butthead' doesn't compare even remotely with the British Rowan Atkinson and 'Monty Python' films) but after reading this script I have changed my opinion entirely. I have missed the film on the 'circuit'- this script being the first time I have heard of it and if indeed it has been produced and released- but it is one I will definitely look for on DVD.

I used some parts of the script of this movie for English class of "English haters". They enjoyed and came to love the language. This is a classic of English humour.
